Zach Bryan, the rising raspy-voiced Oklahoma native, released a new track with Kacey Musgraves this week that will appear on his upcoming self-titled album.

Three years ago, an unknown Bryan recorded a cell phone video of his song “Heading South” and it went viral. Bryan was raised in Oologah and spent seven years in the Navy before exploding onto the music scene.

“Drunk af in the middle of the night, but still a perfect recording. You’re not hearing music folks, you’re hearing a man’s soul being poured out of his mouth,” @isaack6994 said in in the comment section on Youtube. The video has over 23 million views.

This week Kacey Musgraves released “I Remember Everything” from Bryan’s upcoming album.

“Thank you (Bryan) for having me collab on this gorgeous song. I definitely pulled some of my own life into it. Fun fact, y’all: I had full blown strep when I recorded this song but somehow I pushed through. So it’s confirmed: this song is sick as (expletive),” Musgraves said.

The video shows a still shot of Bryan smoking with his eyes closed as a film-like filter scratches the screen. The song describes the tug-of-war of a relationship. It has a really warm feel that puts your mind in a dream-like landscape. The instrumentation and harmonies are perfect.

“Kacey, this song is such a hauntingly exquisite gem. I haven’t stopped listening to it since it came out. All love for my sweet, angelic Country Queen,” @yesiamthatgradeac***.4648 wrote in the comment section.
